I was on a bike ride on August 2nd, 2023, my 27th birthday. This little guy was sitting in the road, so I stopped and he climbed right up my leg and wrapped his paws around my neck. I knocked on some doors to see if he belonged to anyone and nobody answered. It was

raining, and his eye was mostly closed- it looked really, really bad. I was never a cat person, always had a dog and never got the appeal of cats, but I couldn't leave the little guy in the road. I pedaled home, holding him in one hand and took him straight to the vet. They weren't sure he

would live and told me the little guy had a hole in his eye and feline hopes. Two years and a lot of medication later, he's thriving, healthy, and the best cat I've ever met. I named him Batman because he hadn't quite grown into his ears when I found him.

PG_VoiceFirst • 13h ago This is such a beautiful story. Thank you for giving this little guy a chance when most people would have just kept riding by. It takes a big heart to stop, help, and commit to caring for an animal in such

rough shape. The bond you've built with Batman is clear in this photo-he knows he's safe and loved now. Stories like this remind me how much of a difference compassion can make, not just in an animal's life, but in ours too.

MaisieDay 12h ago Aww, I absolutely LOVE when "dog people" discover the awesomeness of cats. I am the opposite always a cat person, but after helping to foster 9 puppies with my Dad, I LOVE dogs now. They really - communicate in a way that is beyond cats.
  • 24
BUT, still love cats so much. They communicate also, but it requires more work. They are quirky, FUNNY, affectionate, and cute and soft in ways that dogs aren't. And they are all different and FULL of personality just like dogs are. Takes one cat in your life to discover that!

So glad that you and Batman found each other, and that you saved him. And so glad that you now get how wonderful cats are!

jitasquatter2 • 12h ago There are two types of people in this world: People who like cats and people who haven't met the right cat yet. Congrats, you've finally met yours.

On a side note, cat's raised by dogs are probably the best pets around. They have many of the best qualities of both species.
